Booktalking "Art & Max" by David Wiesner

Dinosaur and lizard minds collide in a shared attempt to create art. Arthur decides paint Max a panoply of colors that fragment and shatter all across the page! Later, Arthur does a line drawing of Max, and lizards are getting tangled in the long pencil trail.  Max is very discerning about art, and he makes many suggestions so that Arthur can draw a more poignant representation of him. Art is, apparent, a fan of pointallism.

Max also enjoys throwing paint colors around on occasion, but he is more of an abstract artist.

I love the fantastically intricate illustrations, and the book is almost reminiscent of a graphic novel.
