Accion East is  a nonprofit organization with a nationwide reach that has helped thousands of small business owners grow and thrive. A recognized leader in U.S. microfinance, they help small business owners use microloans to build their businesses.  They are part of the U.S. Accion Network, the largest domestic microlending network, with over $272 million lent since inception in 1991.

Accion East is looking for good candidates for their Loan consultant position.

The Loan Consultant is the point of contact for prospective Accion borrowers who are primarily Hispanic. Primary responsibilities include enthusiastically generating client leads, connecting clients to resources that support their success, assisting clients with their applications and providing outstanding customer service to existing, past and prospective clients. This location for this position can be in Boston, New York or Florida.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify small business owners who need financing and have them apply for a loan.
  • Assist clients in the preparation of loan applications.
  • Ensure strong loan performance, including on time payments.
  • Identify, initiate and manage strategic community partnerships that increase quality referrals.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Bilingual - English and Spanish; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Five years experience working in small business; prior business experience/sales skills preferred
  • Good presentation and math skills; Knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends, when needed
