2014 CMP Annual Job Fair

CMP (formerly Chinatown Manpower Project, Inc.) is recognized as a leading workforce and economic development organization in the New York community, addressing the issues of poverty and under-employment, helping aspiring entrepreneurs to start up businesses, as well as assisting Asian American professionals to advance in their career path. Many Asian American New Yorkers are first-generation immigrants who struggle with barriers to education and employment. Within this population, many cannot speak or write English and few have a support network. Others are just starting their educational and/or professional careers having just finished high school. Or, still yet, they are professionals that desire to move upward in the professional ladder. CMP understands the barriers to opportunity among those in greatest need. Through partnerships with government agencies and other community based organizations, CMP successfully expands the community’s access to resources and networks. CMP empowers individuals to participate and contribute fully to society professionally and economically. With over forty years of dedicated service, CMP excels in providing job and economic development opportunities and a trusted leader in the area of service.

CMP’s 2014 annual Job Fair employment event will be held on Thursday, September 25th from 10 am to 3 pm. The event will include over fifteen employers from the Healthcare and Retail industries from locations in Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan, as well as workshops in Healthcare and job market trends. Job seekers will have the chance to learn about industry career paths, build their network and meet with potential employers at the event.

CMP will be working as organizers of the event in conjunction with its event partners, co-host CCBA (Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association), and co-sponsors HealthPlus Amerigroup and First American International Bank.
