NYPLarcade: First Person Games

NYPLarcade is an opportunity to play, watch, and discuss independent, experimental, and thought-provoking games in a library setting. Think of it as a book club, but for video games.

Our fall series will take place at Jefferson Market Library in Greenwich Village and Mid-Manhattan Library in Midtown, and focuses on games utilizing the first-person perspective.

Rather than examining the undeniably popular first person shooter genre (which includes well-known franchises  such as BioShock, Call of Duty, and Halo), we will look at titles which draw inspiration from these games, but which primarily focus on exploration of a rendered, three-dimensional world.

All events are FREE and open to the public. Play begins at 6 p.m. and will be followed by a discussion, starting around 7 p.m.
