This is an in-person program.

Have you been meaning to read more, but don’t have time to sit down and get through a long book? Join us for our 100 page book club! Every week, we will meet to discuss a book, 100 pages at a time. No need to rush through the whole thing—this club is here to take it slow.

In his journal, Nobel Prize winner John Steinbeck called East of Eden “the first book,” and indeed it has the primordial power and simplicity of myth. Set in the rich farmland of California’s Salinas Valley, this sprawling and often brutal novel follows the intertwined destinies of two families—the Trasks and the Hamiltons—whose generations helplessly reenact the fall of Adam and Eve and the poisonous rivalry of Cain and Abel.
