Book Buddy programs, where young students are paired with older students, to develop stronger literacy and social-emotional skills, offer a variety of benefits to all involved. Improved Literacy Skills Spending shared time reading age-appropriate books, the older buddy reads to the younger student, helping them become familiar with reading and literacy. This 1-on-1 pairing helps to develop their reading fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary.
