This program series will be held in person at Columbus LibraryJoin us for Tapestry Weaving Workshops with Jessica Lagunas.

Teaching artist Jessica Lagunas will guide participants through fiber arts over 8 sessions. The meditative quality of Tapestry Weaving enables participants to learn and experiment with colors, textures, and patterns, to create their own 14" × 18" weave. The sessions focus mostly on experimentation and learning the basics to create a tapestry weave—from tools needed, dressing the loom, basic and advanced weaving stitches, use of different types of threads, finishing the tapestry, and taking it off the loom.

There will be access to weaving books during the sessions, as well as inspiration from the Digital Collections at NYPL. A list of weaving books from NYPL will be provided as resources for future inspiration.

Materials will be provided.

This series will consist of eight sessions, 90 minutes each.

Dates: Mondays, March 18 – May 13, 2024 (There will be no class on April 8)
Hours: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM

Attendance at all sessions is recommended. PLEASE REGISTER FOR THE MAY DATES HERE | Please register for April & May dates respectively. Our website does not allow registration across months.  Apologies for any inconvenience.
