About the Presenters:

 

Jennifer Chan (Moderator) is a NPR How I Built This Fellow and the founder of Banato, a company creating vegan frozen treats that have no dairy and no added sugars. Her company is on a mission to make healthy foods accessible to all people and to teach communities about fruits and vegetables.

Teresa Ging is CEO & Founder of Sugar Bliss, a retail bakery and baked goods company in Chicago. Since 2007, Sugar Bliss has been offering a variety of baked goods, catering services, and corporate gifts. She has a BA from the University of Chicago and a Patisserie Certificate from Le Cordon Bleu. She has also received numerous awards including the NAWBO Corporate Women Achievement, BMO Harris Celebrating Women, and has been invited by President Obama to attend the signing of the White House Council on Women & Girls. She is a Board Member of Asian American Chamber of Commerce of Illinois and the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce SBDC

Margaret Pak is Chef and Co-Owner of Thattu. A self-taught chef with a lifelong passion for food, Margaret worked in corporate for over a dozen years before diving into the food industry. While working as a Prep Cook she also cooked the cuisine of her husbands' home, Kerala, located in India. A handful of popups led to the creation of Thattu May 2019. This food stall caught national recognition from Food & Wine Magazine and James Beard Foundation. April 2023, Thattu opened it’s doors and soon after garnered the attention of NY Times and Eaters’ Best New Restaurants in America.

Chef Dalia David is the first South Indian Wellness Chef and Finalist to appear on the Food Network Show “Chopped”. Featured in Epicurious, Bon Appetit and Simply Recipes, she is one of New York’s prominent community-driven celebrity wellness chefs. With a passion for addressing food consumption issues in the US, she guides industry leaders towards introspective eating solutions. Chef Dalia's mission is to promote self-awareness through meals, she is a wellness cuisine specialist. Dalia is the founder of Honest Eating, a gastrodiplomacy social impact platform using culinary activities for meaningful conversation and transformative experiences for diversity, equity and inclusion.

Kathy Vega Hardy is the chef and owner of A Taste of the Philippines (ATOTP). Born and raised in the Manila, Philippines, Kathy was greatly influenced by her parents (mother was a chef and dietician and her father was an entrepreneur) and was determined to start a business that ties in with her Filipino heritage after being let go from her accountant job. ATOTP started as a food truck in Denver and Kathy wanted to challenge herself as a professional and set her site on one of the greatest food cities in the world- Chicago. 12 years later she is going strong as a catering company and opening her first brick and mortar late spring.
