The ongoing renovation of the landmarked 116-year-old Port Richmond Library will include updating dedicated areas for the children, teens, and adults; creating multi-purpose rooms for a variety of programs and classes; adding a new elevator; and upgrading technology and infrastructure. The library is expected to reopen by summer 2024.

About the Library
Located two blocks from Port Richmond Avenue along Bennett Street and opposite Veterans Park, the Port Richmond Branch opened its doors in 1905 as one of the branches built with funds from Andrew Carnegie. The branch, with its fireplaces, oak shelving, and original turn-of-the-century furniture, provides an inviting space to read, study, or enjoy free programs.Learn more about this location Learn about capital construction projects at this location
