The Fund works by connecting entrepreneurs to affordable capital, educational resources, coaching, and networks. Through innovative partnerships and outreach strategies, Accion targets underserved entrepreneurs -- including entrepreneurs of color, low-income entrepreneurs, and women -- who often lack access to the financial services they need to build and grow their businesses.

Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation aims to help close the racial wealth gap in Central Brooklyn's lower income neighborhoods through an economic mobility platform designed to help people become financially literate and independent.  These programs include the following: 

The Business Outreach Center (BOC) Network is a micro-enterprise/small business development organization with over a decade-long record of delivering customized business services to under-served entrepreneurs in New York City and, more recently, in Newark,NJ as well as capacity-building services to organizations establishing and operating community and micro-enterprise development programs.

 BOC business counselors provide one-on-one needs assessment, business planning, marketing and management guidance, as well as access to resources through the BOC Network’s extensive linkages with the full spectrum of public and private business assistance sources.

Staten Island Business Outreach is a member of the Business Outreach Center network, with offices throughout the City, offers free counseling and referrals. After an initial intake and analysis of an ongoing or prospective business, counselors develop a needs assessment and work with clients to identify and take full advantage of appropriate specialized services, programs and financing sources. BOC counselors also provide essential follow-up and look for early warnings of problems, particularly in utilizing loans. Note: Other BOCs are located in Brooklyn, Chinatown, Upper Manhattan, and Corona Queens. Check listings in other boroughs or call the main office at 718-624-9115. Also offer free small business workshops and technology works for entrepreneurs and small businesses.

Our Childcare Business Development Project helps home-based childcare providers develop and enhance their businesses. Now, needed services and support in achieving economic self- sufficiency are available to childcare providers through this special project, including: Individualized start-up and operations assistance, Practical business training, Business and marketing planning, Free legal assistance if qualified, Free tax assistance, Access to grants and loans, Networking opportunities.
