Scholars-in-Residence Program
The Schomburg Center Scholars-in-Residence Program offers long-term and short-term fellowships to support scholars and writers working on projects that would benefit from access to the Center's extensive collections of materials related to African diasporic history, politics, literature, and culture. The Junior Scholars Program
Each year, 100 youth are selected to participate in a free pre-college black studies program at the Schomburg Center/NYPL. Junior Scholars attend college-style lectures and presentations, engage in dialogue with adult scholars, participate in guided peer group discussions and activities.LEARN mORE
The New York Public Library
The New York Public Library offers Short-Term Research Fellowships to support scholars outside the New York metropolitan area, engaged in graduate-level, post-doctoral, and independent research in the arts and humanities. The program support scholars who would benefit from research conducted on-site at the Schomburg Center, Library for the Performing Arts, Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center, or the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building. It draws from collections unique to NYPL. LEARN MORE.
